About Wellness Place and this position Wellness Place is an established Behavioral Health Group practice with offices needing support to provide medication management services in both Kuttawa and Dawson Springs, Kentucky. Wellness Place is a Christian organization that serves Christian and Non-Christian patients from a diverse background. Our team serves patients and clients from a large area with a broad range of needs. We have an established one day per week caseload in our Kuttawa location for a prescriber and continue to receive referrals on a frequent basis. The beginnings of a caseload are present at our Dawson Springs location and we anticipate this growing in the near future. We are in the process of starting 2-3 significant program areas and continuing to build external agency relationships that are anticipated to expand the need for additional mental health medication services. Therefore, we are in the need of a provider who is willing to work part-time and grow with our group. If desired, additional opportunities are available to expand beyond basic medication management to create additional days of work. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of mental health practices and demonstrate the ability to provide high-quality care to patients across various settings. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with psychiatric disorders while collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Duties Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs. Provide medication management, including administration and monitoring of psychotropic medications. Utilize telehealth services based from a Wellness Place office to enhance patient access to care. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in outpatient settings and long-term care facilities. Coordinate with external providers related to patient care, when requested. Engage in case management and discharge planning for patients transitioning between care levels. Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with policy, HIPAA, state, and federal regulations. Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies. Stay current with advancements in psychiatric nursing practices and relevant medical technologies. Experience Candidates should have experience or familiarity with the following areas: EMR systems for efficient patient record management. Knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding for accurate medical billing. Awareness of diverse settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, outpatient clinics, personal care homes, and home care environments. Proficiency in performing physical examinations, triage, specimen collection/processing, and administering injections. Familiarity with behavioral health practices including pain management, psychopharmacology (all ages), hospice & palliative medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and senior care. Understanding of medical terminology related to various specialties including internal medicine, infectious disease care, emergency medicine, and occupational health.
