Manufacturing ManagerLocation: Richmond, VADirect Hire About The RoleZing Recruiting is seeking a Manufacturing Manager to lead our client’s production operations across three manufacturing areas and help drive the future growth of the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and employee development objectives are achieved across all shifts. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has experience leading large teams while driving continuous improvement initiatives.The Manufacturing Manager will play a key role in fostering a culture of safety, accountability, employee engagement, and operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety LeadershipMaintain a safe and secure work environment across all production areas.Educate employees on hazard identification and safe work practices.Conduct safety inspections and facilitate safety meetings.Investigate incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented and completed.Promote safety awareness and compliance with company policies.Production OperationsManage production activities across three manufacturing areas to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.Execute production plans through effective scheduling, resource allocation, and prioritization.Monitor production performance and adjust schedules as necessary to meet operational goals.Prepare and communicate production results and shift summaries.Team Leadership & Employee DevelopmentLead and manage employee performance across manufacturing operations.Clearly communicate expectations, responsibilities, authority, and accountability to team members.Recruit, train, coach, develop, and retain employees.Address employee concerns, investigate issues, and resolve workplace challenges.Identify skill gaps and implement development plans to support employee growth and business objectives.Quality & Continuous Improvement Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout production operations.Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve product quality concerns.Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including:Continuous Improvement projects5S programsVisual workplace initiativesCost reduction effortsWaste elimination activitiesPromote employee involvement and continuous improvement culture throughout the plant. Operational ExcellenceFoster collaboration and teamwork across departments.Ensure consistent application of company systems, standards, policies, and procedures.Manage confidential and proprietary information appropriately.Support strategic business initiatives and organizational change efforts.Perform additional duties as assigned.QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree preferred.Experience Minimum 4 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.Experience managing teams of 100+ employees.Proven experience with:Lean Manufacturing implementationContinuous Improvement initiativesTeam development and leadershipQuality control and quality assuranceProduction planning and execution Skills & CompetenciesStrong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to drive results and influence change.Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management abilities.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and functional teams.Proven ability to meet production schedules while improving operational efficiency.Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to react with urgency and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.Understanding of manufacturing operations, business principles, and industry best practices.Technical Skills Experience with Manufacturing Software and ERP systems.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including:ExcelOutlookTeamsWord Additional RequirementsValid passport required.Ability to travel domestically and internationally.Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret graphs.Why Join?Join a growing organization where your leadership will directly impact safety, operational performance, employee development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
