Associate Combustion and Performance Emission EngineerPay: $34-35/hr depending on experienceLocation: Seymour, IN12 Month Contract to HireRole OverviewThe Associate Engineer supports Central Engineering by executing engine test cell operations, analyzing performance and emissions data, and assisting with calibration and validation activities for new product development and current products in the field. This role is part of Brooksource's Elevate Program, which provides structured technical training, professional development, coaching, and mentorship while consultants deliver hands-on engineering impact.This is an onsite, hands-on role where time in the engine test cell is critical to success. The engineer works closely with technicians, mechanical engineers, and global teams to support testing, data analysis, and EPA-related validation efforts tied to upcoming production builds.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute and support engine test cell operations, including troubleshooting issues during testingAnalyze engine performance, calibration, and emissions dataAssist with calibration manipulation, validation, and release activitiesUtilize internal tools to evaluate constraints, targets, and performance dataPartner closely with technicians and engineers to keep testing moving efficientlyOrganize and manage test data, documentation, and resultsCollaborate with global teams located in India and ChinaQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related fieldHands-on interest or experience with engines or mechanical systems (SAE Baja/Formula, emissions labs, farm or shop experience)Exposure to testing environments and data analysisWorking knowledge of Excel, MATLAB, and data review processesStrong time management, communication, and willingness to learnNice to Have / Will LearnGT-Power or similar simulation toolsAVL CONCERTO or emissions testing toolsCalibration development processes and internal toolsWhat Success Looks LikeConsistent and reliable execution of engine testing activitiesAccurate data analysis supporting calibration and emissions decisionsStrong working relationships with technicians and engineering teamsContinuous technical growth through Elevate coaching and mentorship
