An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room with a focus on Gynecology and Genitourinary procedures. This contract position offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment within a Level One Trauma Center, perfect for an RN with strong surgical expertise and excellent patient care skills.Responsibilities include:Providing skilled nursing care during complex surgeries including robotics (DaVinci Xi), PCNLs, nephrectomies, ureteral reimplants, hysterectomies, cystectomies, colpocleisis, hysteroscopies, and ureteroscopiesCaring for a diverse patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatricsCollaborating with a multi-disciplinary team in managing a 26-bed operating room unitUsing advanced equipment such as Storz, Stryker, Olympus, and Intuitive RobotDocumenting care accurately within the Epic EMR systemParticipating in one overnight trauma call per week on a rotating basisBeing flexible with weekend coverage (1:4 schedule, 12-hour shifts)Qualifications and Desired Experience:Minimum 3 years of Level 1 trauma experience as an OR RNCompetency with robotic surgical systems and specialized GU/GYN proceduresCNOR certification preferredAt least 2 years post-licensure clinical experienceStrong teamwork, accountability, punctuality, and adaptabilitySchedule:Shifts: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.Weekly guaranteed hours: 36Weekend rotation: approximately 1 out of 4 weekendsCall requirement: one overnight trauma call from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.This position is based in Portland, ME, a vibrant coastal city known for its rich maritime history, thriving arts scene, and excellent culinary experiences.
