Forward Deployed Engineer – Databricks - Forensic Discovery & Financial Crime
Overview
As a Senior Consultant FDE at Deloitte, you design, build, and deploy AI-enabled data solutions for enterprise clients. You bridge software and data engineering with client delivery to move solutions from concept to production. You translate complex tech into business value and help clients scale generative AI capabilities. The role sits within the Forensic, Discovery, & Financial Crime team, focusing on AML, investigations, and related use cases.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with client stakeholders to define business needs, constraints, priority use cases, and success criteriaDesign, build, and integrate AI-enabled apps, APIs, ML models, data pipelines, and microservices for client environmentsUse AI-assisted development workflows to accelerate delivery while upholding code quality, security, and maintainabilityLead production deployments, including architecture, security, privacy, and access reviewsTroubleshoot integration issues and optimize performance in Databricks and cloud environmentsCreate reusable assets and document workflows; enable client teams to sustain delivered solutions
Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field3+ years in software/data engineering, data science, or tech delivery with cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)1+ years with Databricks and tools like DBRX, MLflow, Vector Search, or Databricks AI Gateway1+ years leading project workstreams or client engagements translating business requirements into technical solutions1+ years building and deploying AI/GenAI/LLM-powered solutions in client or production settingsExperience delivering production code with AI-assisted development tools and engineering guardrailsExperience presenting and iterating on designs with stakeholders and incorporating feedbackAbility to travel ~50%Limited immigration sponsorship may be availableStrong written and verbal communicationAttention to detail and quality of workAbility to build and sustain professional relationshipsDatabricks platform and tools (DBRX, MLflow, Vector Search, Databricks AI Gateway)Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, Google CloudAI/GenAI/LLM development and deployment
