Would consider out of the area if exceptional Job Description Position Summary: The Business Unit Controller is a key part of the leadership team. Acts as a business partner and advisor to the company President, contributes to all areas of plant management and provides strong financial leadership. Primary responsibilities include supervision of the monthly close process, billings to clients for products & services provided, collection of accounts receivable, accounts payable, monthly reporting, spend and variance analysis, annual preparation of a budget, assist in the preparation of quarterly tax projections and annual tax return preparation, maintaining adequate internal controls, asset management, and cash management. The incumbent will provide financial direction to the business and provide recommendations to improve site performance.Experience/Skills/Specific Knowledge/Education: Bachelor's and/or master's degree in business administration / Accounting. CMA and/or CPA preferred, but not required. 7+ years' experience in the accounting and finance sector. 4+ years' experience managing accountants and the accounting and finance process. 5+ years in a position equivalent to a controller or higher responsibilities. Strong knowledge of US GAAP. Understanding of accounting for a manufacturing company is required (Bills of Material, manufacturing processes). Solid understanding of ERP systems. Infor CSI/Syteline experience a plus. Ability to work cross-functionally with the total organization. Healthy professional skepticism and inquisitiveness with a continuous improvement mindset. Excellent communication skills, internally and externally. Analytical- Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complete data; Designs workflows and procedures. High proficiency in data warehouse and query tools with advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Problem Solving/Strategic Thinking. Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting strict deadlines. Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the organization. Must be a team player and act cooperatively with the business. Demonstrate strong and pragmatic business acumen. Customer Service Oriented.
