Assistant Controller

Well-established and respected global company in the South Bay has an immediate need for an Assistant Controller. Role is a mix of month end close, FP&A, reporting and cost accounting/analysisCompany offers excellent room for professional growth as well as a highly competitive benefit package.** Company is targeting candidates local to the Southern California area only **$125-$150K plus bonusReports to GM and Controller - this role is basically a Plant Controller for a $30M plantGood path to Controller promotionManufacturing and cost accounting is required.This is on site at the manufacturing location daily.The Assistant Controller is responsible for the month end close, financial planning, reporting, and analysis activities for our South Bay operations. This position will be heavily relied on to be a business partner to the General Manager and Controller with strategic analysis and business financial modeling and will report directly to the Controller.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends.Support site functions in developing financial budgetsProvide analysis, tools and metrics that assist the Company in achieving operational and financial excellence.Lead and support monthly performance analysis and re-forecast process.Assist in new program contract bidding process as required to ensure required return on investment is met and appropriate margins are estimated.Participate in Capital Expenditure Request process to ensure ROI goals are met..Participate actively in the strategic direction and planning of the Company with President and management team.Work directly with the Division Controller to ensure accurate representation of financial performance.Both lead and support with routine site audit.Position RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related area of study, with at least five years of related experience in corporate accounting and FP&A in a manufacturing setting.Experience in manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing methods.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Excellent communication skills, ability to deal with people at all levels.Strong attention to detail and good interpersonal skills.Strong decision making and problem solving skills.Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic environment.Motivated, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards.MS Office including Excel and WordExperience with a Tier 1 accounting softwareDatabase query experience a plus but not required.Financial Consolidation and Reporting Software is a plus
