Android Engineer

In both our products and our people, we aim to reflect, represent, and advocate for all warehouse, distribution, and logistics operators globally.Takt is based in Reston, VA and is currently looking for local candidates who can be in the office at least 4 days a week. As a software engineer on this team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the vision, design, and development of the Takt platform. What You’ll Be Doing Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions to transform warehouse, distribution, and logistics performance and efficiency.Building Enterprise Android Applications deployed via MDM to Zebra, Honeywell, and Samsung devices deployed in the warehouse.Build end-user-facing applications downloaded to their personal or work devices to monitor warehouse performance.Build Android-based Kiosk applications with integrations with barcode or NFC badges.Deploy, manage, and maintain high quality, distributed, and scalable software to cloud based environments.Work in an agile, startup development environment, where you are always working on the most important stuff.What You Should HaveBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, related field, or 2 years of software engineering experience.Experience with Android Development, specifically Jetpack Compose, Okhttp, and the latest Android featuresIntegrating with 3rd party hardware connected to the Android device.Experience with Zebra and Honeywell development platforms.Experience with iOS development is a plus.Ensuring a diverse and inclusive workplace where we learn from each other is core to Takt’s values.
