DescriptionCMS Mechanical is looking for a Skilled LaborerCMS Mechanical self-performs work in both the commercial and industrial sectors, including scopes of work related to the provision, installation, and service of heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, process piping/systems, and energy systems. The latter includes electrical generation and co-generation systems, and all related peripheral elements required to deliver fully functional systems to our customers.RequirementsDuties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. Assures the safe and proper use of tools and equipmentCutting of steal using flame torchBeveling, grinding, preparing materials for weldingLoad, unload and identify materials, machinery, tools and distribute them to the appropriate locations according to project plans or direction from SuperintendentLubricate, clean, and repair machinery, equipment and toolsMeasure pipe and cut to correct sizeApply caulking, cleaning solutions, or other compounds by hand or using hand toolsPrepare forms for pouring concrete and dismantle forms after use using a variety of hand toolsGrind, scrape, sand or polish surfaces using abrasive tools or machinesDig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, rakes or other hand toolsOther duties as assignedEducation and Experience* High School diploma and minimum 2-3 years of previous mechanical construction to include HVAC ductwork, electrical controls and threaded pipe installationKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong communication skills with ability to coordinate work with other team membersStrong organizational skills to effectively manage time and resources in the most efficient mannerAbility to read blueprints and drawingsAbility to work independentlyMust be able to use a variety of hand tools, power tools and other equipmentMust be able to read and use a tape measure accuratelySupervisory Responsibilities* Works under the direction of a Superintendent or Skilled TradesmanWorking ConditionsHeavy physical effort required for frequent lifting or moving of heavy materialsAbility to lift up to fifty (50) pounds and walk a project siteRegularly required to sit or stand, bend and reachAbility to work in confined spaceWork is regularly performed in outside weather conditions on jobsitesMust be able to travel for weeks of time to support projectsCMS Offers competitive pay along with a comprehensive benefit package including Health, Vision and Dental Insurance, AFLAC, 401K with a company match, Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, Paid HolidaysWe are an equal opportunity employer.
