Are you ready for your career at CI?Position Summary and Purpose: Lead continuous improvement efforts to drive towards world class safety performance of the organization. Responsible for all aspects of EH&S for the company and ensuring compliance to regulatory standards.Duties and Responsibilities:Develop and execute EH&S continuous improvement plans to meet EH&S metrics for the companyInspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risksDevelops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspectionsDevelops health and safety procedures for all areas of the companyPrepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topicsMonitors compliance with safety proceduresDrafts inspection reports to document inspection findingsEnsures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when neededMaintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as requiredWorks closely with the mfg. operations team to investigate, and develop corrective actions for all safety issuesWorker's comp ownership - case management, RTW, light-duty coordination, claim follow-up, analytics, etc.Security Oversight Responsibilities - Oversee Third party security providerCompliance and Programs Documentation and program management (OSHA, EPA, DNR, Fire Code, etc.)Must be comfortable engaging union hourly employees and union leadershipEducation and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related technical fieldSpecialized training and certification from a recognized institute will have an added value.An accredited program in safety engineering is highly desiredExtensive knowledge of environmental, safety and health regulations and policies. Experience implementing Behavioral Based Safety Programs Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Characteristics:Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.Physical Demands and Work Environment:This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing ladders dailyThe employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, to reach with hands and arms, to climb or balance, to talk and hearThe employee must regularly lift, move or carry up to 10 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.Physical Demands/Work Environment: Physical Demands: This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing ladders daily.
