Senior Director, Member Engagement & Development

The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) is looking for a resourceful and magnetic Senior Director of Member Engagement & Development who shares our passion for digital media and helping industry leaders thrive in the digital economy. This is an exciting opportunity; where in this role, you will interact with the entire digital media and marketing ecosystem, including publishers, ad-tech/mar-tech companies, agencies, and brands. You will also develop relationships with the senior executives and organizations shaping our industry.The IAB requires investments from its members to execute its industry agenda. The Member Engagement & Development team (MED) is responsible for developing new members, retaining existing members, and delivering revenue for dues, events, boards, training/certification, and research to fund the IAB’s industry agenda. Increased engagement with IAB activities that align with their interests drives increased investment in IAB. This role is a unique combination of sales and member engagement, with equal emphasis on each.What You'll Do:Manage a portfolio of key IAB members, including day-to-day member engagement, revenue generation and relationship management.Develop and execute member engagement strategies, including in-person meetings, frequent engagement calls and email campaigns that prompt optimal involvementDevelop deep understanding of and strategic relationships with members to increase engagement and grow revenue.Meet with members frequently, to have a deep multi-faceted relationship with key contacts and facilitate opportunities for involvement in the IAB beyond just those with revenue goals attached. In other words, understand your members’ challenges in order to make relevant recommendations.Promote and sell sponsorship opportunities at IAB events and other resources.Promote and sell boards seats and other thought leadership engagementsDrive interest in IAB training and certification programsPartner with and collaborate with the IAB Marketing, Event Logistics and Programming, and Member Sales & Solutions teams to ensure seamless transition from sale to execution.Manage all aspects of sales, including entering and updating sales opportunities in IAB’s CRM, managing pipelines and executing a sales strategy against those pipelinesInterface with IAB members, partners, sponsors, and other industry leaders in person and virtually to gain market intelligenceLead the onboarding process for new members to ensure they are made aware of all opportunities to engage in IAB initiativesResponsible for all aspects of the membership CRM database; boosting data integrity and tracking member engagement metricsOversee the distribution and use of member engagement data to other staff and, where appropriate, to membersKeep abreast of industry development and member movement via industry trades, Committees and Councils, and conferences to follow industry trends and company and member movesThis role comes with a significant commission plus bonus!Who You Are:You are an engaging creative thinker and storyteller, and it shows in your innovative approach to engaging members.You love what you do! And it shows you've been doing what you love for a while. You have 10+ years of direct experience in sales, account management and member engagement.You have experience engaging with teams cross-functionally and can work horizontally and vertically within the executive suite of a member company.Some people get nervous speaking in public, but you are not those people. You love educating and speaking to an audience and have experience presenting to large audiences.You have experience selling revenue-driving packages across multiple offeringsYou can articulate the value of appropriate products and services in an effective mannerYou have a working knowledge of Salesforce and/or other CRM systems and understand the critical nature of data integrityYou love working solo or with a team. You have experience engaging with teams cross-functionally and working solo.You deeply understand the digital media landscape, have knowledge of the advertising technology, publishing and social media sectors, and have a passion for advertising, marketing, and mediaYou are a Rock Star at Project Management! You have proven experience in project management, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and managing multiple constituents—a proactive approach to work is essential.You are a proficient communicator with excellent oral/written communication/presentation skills and in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.You are digitally connected and savvy. You are highly proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom), CRM System (Salesforce)Why You’ll Love IAB:We team up.
