Java Developer

*Job Title: *Java Developer *Location:* Pasadena, CA 91101 (Hybrid) *Job Type:* Contract *Pay Rate:* $70–$75/hour *Openings:* 2 We are seeking experienced *Java Developers* to join a long-term hybrid contract opportunity in Pasadena, CA. This role is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in modern Java development, Spring Boot, microservices, and enterprise application development. The interview process will be conducted virtually. Candidates must have valid legal authorization to work in the United States for a minimum of two years. *Key Responsibilities*

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Java applications.
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot.
• Apply object-oriented design principles to create maintainable and efficient software.
• Develop and support batch processing solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to projects following Agile and Waterfall methodologies as required.
• Perform code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for applications and processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable software solutions.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend continuous improvements.

*Required Skills & Qualifications*

• 5–10 years of professional experience in Java development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 8–17+, including Lambda Expressions, Stream API, Optional API, and modern Java features.
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring Web, Spring Data JPA, Dependency Injection (DI), AOP, Bean Lifecycle Management, and custom query development.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and best practices.
• Experience with batch processing frameworks and enterprise applications.
• Solid knowledge of Agile development methodologies and familiarity with Waterfall projects.
• Experience with Git and Gradle (Azure DevOps is a plus).
• Proficiency with Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, or Visual Studio Code.
• Experience using GitHub Copilot with Claude or other Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) – Preferred
