Job descriptionJob Title: Senior Java Developer – Warehouse & Supply Chain ApplicationsLocation: Nashville, TNJob Type: Contract -W2Experience: 10+ Years Job SummaryThe role is focused on designing, developing, and maintaining supply chain technology solutions. You will work on integrating Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) with other enterprise applications, ensuring smooth data flow across the supply chain. This includes building APIs, web applications, and backend services, as well as collaborating with business analysts, architects, and technical teams to turn business requirements into reliable system capabilities. Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Design & DevelopmentBuild and enhance technical features for warehouse management and supply chain systems.Develop scalable applications using Java, JavaScript frameworks (React/Angular/Vue), and backend technologies like Spring or Node.js.Ensure integration between WMS and other enterprise applications to maintain data consistency.API Development & IntegrationDesign, develop, and manage RESTful APIs for communication between systems.Work with API Gateways and use API testing tools to ensure reliability and performance.Apply microservices architecture (Spring Boot) and service-oriented principles for modular and maintainable systems.Cloud, DevOps & InfrastructureDeploy and manage applications on cloud platforms (GCP/Azure).Use containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) for scalable deployments.Follow DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based version control to streamline software delivery.Database DevelopmentWork with multiple database technologies: Oracle, MySQL, Snowflake, SQL Server.Write and execute complex SQL queries.Develop PL/SQL procedures, packages, and optimize database performance.System Administration & Performance OptimizationMonitor and troubleshoot applications in Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments.Validate and optimize garbage collection, heap dumps, and thread usage.Implement caching strategies, security measures, and performance tuning for web applications.Collaboration & Business AlignmentPartner with business analysts to refine business requirements into technical solutions.Collaborate with technical leads, architects, and vendor partners to define project scope and ensure adherence to implementation standards.Document, audit, and deploy changes according to enterprise processes.Support & MentorshipParticipate in on-call rotations to resolve system issues and provide technical support.Document solutions for recurring problems.Mentor junior developers and share knowledge of new technologies. QualificationsExperience:10+ years in developing APIs using Java and related frameworks.Proven experience with SDLC methodologies.Mandatory: Java, REST API, PL/SQL, React or Angular.Preferred: Warehouse Management Systems (Manhattan WMOS) and Retail IT experience.Education:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical field.Equivalent education + relevant experience may be considered.Certifications (Preferred):Cloud (GCP/Azure) certifications.Java certifications. Technical SkillsProgramming & Frameworks: Java, JavaScript (React, Angular, Vue), Node.js, Spring, Spring Boot.Databases: Oracle, Snowflake, MySQL, SQL Server, PL/SQL.Cloud & DevOps: GCP/Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Git.Messaging & Middleware: Apache AMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka.Reporting Tools: Snowflake, Cognos.Operating Systems: RedHat Linux, Unix, Windows Server 2019.Warehouse Systems: Strong knowledge of Manhattan WMOS (preferred). Other SkillsStrong communication, collaboration, and critical-thinking abilities.Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and deliver high-quality results with minimal supervision.Comfortable mentoring team members and leading technical discussions.
