Survey CAD DrafterLocation: Fort Wayne, INPosition SummaryA growing multidisciplinary consulting firm is seeking a detail-oriented Survey CAD Drafter to join its Fort Wayne survey team. This role supports land surveying projects through accurate CAD drafting, data processing, and coordination with survey field crews and project managers. The ideal candidate has strong technical drafting skills, a working knowledge of land surveying principles, and a commitment to quality and collaboration.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare survey drawings including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and construction staking exhibits using CAD software.Process and incorporate field data from data collectors, GPS, and total stations into finished survey drawings.Draft plats, legal descriptions, easements, right-of-way exhibits, and record drawings.Assist survey project managers and licensed surveyors with plan preparation and revisions.Ensure drawings comply with applicable standards, specifications, and company CAD standards.Perform basic calculations, surface modeling, and annotation as required.Coordinate with survey field crews to clarify data, resolve discrepancies, and improve workflow efficiency.Maintain organized project files and documentation.Support quality control reviews and incorporate redline comments.Required Qualifications2+ years of experience in survey drafting or related CAD production.Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred).Working knowledge of land surveying concepts, terminology, and practices.Ability to interpret field notes, survey data, and technical instructions.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Effective communication and time management skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Preferred QualificationsExperience drafting ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys.Familiarity with GPS and conventional survey data collection methods.Experience working in a consulting or A/E firm environment.Knowledge of Indiana survey standards and practices.Associate's degree or technical training in drafting, surveying, or a related field.LSIT certification or coursework toward surveying licensure.Why Join Our Team?Employee-owned environment with a strong reputation for technical excellence.Collaborative, supportive culture with opportunities for growth.Exposure to a variety of public and private sector projects.Commitment to training, mentorship, and professional development.Long-term stability with opportunities to grow within the survey practice.Benefits & CompensationCompetitive compensation based on experienceMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company contributionPaid time off and holidaysProfessional development and continuing education support
