Senior Generator Field Technician

Summary:National Power, LLC is actively seeking an experienced Senior/Master Generator Technician. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will play a pivotal role in performing and supervising service operations for National Power's customers and service teams. In this position, you will train, develop, and direct an assigned group of service technicians who startup, service, and repair industrial generators and related equipment, including Bypass Isolation ATS and other related machinery. This role requires both hands-on technical expertise and strong leadership capabilities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Supervise and direct the work of assigned service technicians within geographic territoryEvaluate performance, provide coaching and feedback, and develop training programs to improve technical knowledge and overall performance of assigned techniciansIdentify and assign team members to provide field support and mentorship to other service techniciansPartner with Service Director to resolve employee performance or behavioral issues and determine staffing needsParticipate in recruiting and hiring of field service techniciansServe as first point of contact for phone and field support, including troubleshooting, emergency repair assistance, and parts delivery; escalate complex issues to Service Director as neededConduct preventive maintenance, emergency maintenance, startup, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of generators and related equipmentMake pre-startup site visits to advise and assist installing contractorsLead safety initiatives and oversight for all technicians in assigned geography, ensuring compliance with safety protocolsExecute Quality Control programs within assigned geographic territory, working with Technical Service Manager to implement QC procedures and ensure proper documentationSupport Service Manager in reviewing work orders at all stages of project executionDrive and promote continuous improvement of field operationsProvide customer-focused support to enhance customer relationships and resolve concernsSupport planning and quoting of complex service projectsAssist Service Director with Generac warranty process administrationAdvise service operations team on time and materials needed for various service levelsProvide after-hours emergency response support as neededOccasional overnight travel requiredEducation/Experience/Skills: High school diploma or GED preferredGenerac Master Technician or equivalent certification and training is requiredHigh level of expertise with switchgearPositive attitude and strong customer service skills requiredAbility to manage a team of techniciansFluency in written and spoken EnglishAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondenceIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsStrong organizational, computer, and communication skillsOvernight travel may be requiredCompensation and Benefits: Competitive pay depending on previous experience and current certifications. Overtime is also a factor, and it is paid at 1.5 X base.
