Heavy Diesel Mechanic
*Job Overview*We are seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, including trucks, industrial equipment, and construction vehicles. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with diesel engine repair, vehicle maintenance, and mechanical diagnostics. This role offers the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art tools and equipment in a dynamic environment dedicated to safety, quality, and efficiency.*Responsibilities*Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC components.Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and wheel alignments.Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues on heavy equipment including, tractors-trailers.Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, and hand tools.Operate heavy equipment for testing purposes and ensure proper functioning after repairs.Conduct inspections to identify potential issues before they lead to breakdowns or safety hazards.Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed.Adhere to all safety protocols during maintenance procedures and operate power tools safely.*Skills*Proven experience with heavy equipment repair is highly desirable.Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and service technician practices.Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for complex machinery.Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering.Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment.Familiarity with tractors-trailers.Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures.Capable of troubleshooting hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC units, transmissions, and air brake systems.Mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills; customer service experience is a plus for client interactions. This position requires a dedicated professional with a strong work ethic who can handle diverse repair tasks efficiently while maintaining safety standards at all times.
