POSITION TITLE: Assistant Women's Swimming & Diving CoachCOMPENSATION RANGE: 55,068.00 - 56,720.00 USD per yearEMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Professional AdministrativeDEPARTMENT: Women's SwimmingTARGET HIRE DATE: 4/21/2026BENEFITS: UNC's Career HubCandidates must have valid U.S. work authorization at the time of application; UNC cannot provide H-1B sponsorship at this time.To ensure full consideration, applications must be received by 11:59pm (MT) on 4/9/2026.Position Summary:This position is responsible for assisting in the successful planning, direction and administration of all aspects of the University's NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Program.Job Duties:Assist in developing, directing, and advancing a successful Division I swimming/diving program.• Assist in the planning and conducting of practice and training sessions (pre-season, traditional and non-traditional training segments, off-season and summer).• Assist in the development and implementation of competitive strategies, including scouting• Assist in development of student-athletes• Lead and motivate student-athletes to maximize their potential.Recruit quality student-athletes.Assist in the facilitation of the academic success of student-athletes which includes retention and culminates with graduation.• Recognize students who achieve academic excellence.Assist with administrative duties, which may include but is not limited to ordering/selection of equipment and supplies, arranging practice and competitive facilities, scheduling, and budget management and adherence.Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, adherence, and commitment to all NCAA, Conference, State, and Institutional rules and regulations.Assist with the cultivation of a team culture that ensures appropriate and acceptable student behavior.Demonstrate knowledge and skills to assist a competitive Division I swimming/diving program. Remain current on all trends, methods, and innovations related to swimming/diving and coaching.Participate in program and departmental fundraising, public relations, and promotional efforts. Coordinate an outreach program that encourages student-athlete and sport program visibility in the University and local community. Assist with camps and clinics. .Perform all other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree desired.Combination of collegiate Swimming or Diving Coaching experience preferred. Knowledge of NCAA rules required.Computer skillsKnowledge and adherence to NCAA, Conference, State, Institutional, and Department rules and regulations.Motivation skillsCommitment to working with multi-cultural populations and have an awareness of issues affecting women and minorities.Organizational and Management SkillsSupervision (e.g. Athletes, Student Assistant Coaches, Summer Staff)Public Speaking I FundraisingCounseling/Advising SkillsBenefits:Benefits available include health, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement plans for all full-time positions.
