Job Title: Custodial - Assistant Supervisor NightWage/Hour Status: Non-ExemptReports To: Coordinator- Custodial / IPMPay Grade / Days: 309/240Dept./School: MaintenanceDate Revised: May 2026Primary Purpose:To supervise district custodial staff according to district standards in order to ensure all Waco ISD Facilities are clean, safe, efficient, functional and attractive learning environments for students and staff.Qualifications:Education/Certification:High school diploma or GED certificateValid Texas driver's licenseMust be eligible to drive based on the Texas DPS School Transportation GuidelinesSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Ability to follow oral and written instructionsAbility to communicate effectively in verbal or written formKnowledge of computers, spreadsheets and word processing programsKnowledge of custodial cleaning processes and procedures, supplies, materials and equipmentKnowledge of employee time clock procedures and operationsExperience:Seven or more years of custodial supervisory experience.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:1. Assists in the development and implementation of district standards of cleanliness, custodial procedures and safety required for optimum school operations.2. Assists in the supervision and documentation of personnel matters for all custodians.3. Assists in developing and maintaining current custodial work schedules and staffing levels.4. Assists in the approval of timesheets for custodial employees.5. Assists in the development of a complete custodial training program including regularly scheduled meetings, training documentation, district standards for custodial cleaning methods and procedures, and orientation for current and new custodial employees.6. Stays abreast of the latest testing, custodial cleaning theories, procedures, supplies, materials and equipment in an effort to improve efficiency.7. Assists in the preparation the custodial department budget and monitors budget levels of supplies, materials, equipment and labor throughout the school year.8. Assists in facility inspections each month and develops a written conditions report.9. Perform other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:District custodial employeesEquipment Used:Buffer, wet and dry vacuums, mops, brooms, and any other equipment associated with custodial trade.Working Conditions:Tobacco FreeMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Administrative offices and campus environment, high pressure, fast pace, multiple deadlines, and people intensive. Works extended and irregular hours with the ability to respond to emergency conditions. Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent interruptions. Strenuous standing, stooping, walking, climbing ladders, bending, pushing and pulling, must be physically fit and able to lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. Working indoors, outdoors, in extreme temperatures including hot and cold temperature swings, inclement weather, works with chemicals, exposure to dust, and slippery or uneven walking surfaces.
