Salary: $18.47 Hourly Location : Beaufort Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 202500757 Division: Infrastructure Department: Solid Waste & Recycling Opening Date: 05/21/2026 Closing Date: 6/4/2026 11:59 PM Eastern FLSA: Non-Exempt Description The purpose of this position is to clean up roadside trash and illegal dump sites. This class works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks. Examples of Duties The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary. Assist in property maintenance by removing roadside trash and illegal dump sites.Transports litter to landfills and recyclables to materials recovery facilities.Submits completed work orders on a daily basis.Performs related work as assigned. Typical Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.Over one month and up to and including three months of related experience.Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history. Supplemental Information All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation.
