Intern, Communications and Project Support

Pyxis Partners, a Washington, DC based health advocacy consulting firm, is seeking aCommunications and Project Support Intern to join our team. The Communications/Project Support Intern will work on a wide variety of communications projects and activities that support Pyxis Partners and its clients. The Intern will also assist in the coordination and management of various projects, providing valuable support to project teams. Our interns are enthusiastic, innovative and strategic thinkers with excellent verbal and written communications skills. Interns are team players and have a strong commitment to our clients.This position reports to the Director of Engagement and Communications at Pyxis Partners. Your core responsibilities working in conjunction with the Directors and Engagement teams are:External communications activities for clientsSupporting the development of client-facing documents, including PowerPoint presentations and reports.Proofing and editing a variety of communications materials meeting high editorial standardsApplying MLA or APA writing style guidelines when preparing formal written contentMaintaining consistency across documents using established templates and style guides.Conduct targeted research and support the team in tasks related to engagement, planning, and business development proposalsSupporting project management, tracking through timelines, task lists, and status updates using Excel and other productivity tools.Qualifications:Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a four-year or graduate program in journalism, communications, or a related fieldDemonstrated interest in or experience with health communications, health or public relationsStrong writing, editing, and copy-editing abilities, with excellent grammar and attention to detailStrong research and technology skills, including the ability to navigate resources effectivelyAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, problem-solve, and prioritize competing requestsHighly organized, able to work independently, and capable of managing entry-level project tasks (including familiarity with Excel)Effective collaborator with strong interpersonal skills; enthusiastic, willing to learn, and enjoys working in a team-based environmentExamples of Technologies We Use:CanvaApplyingThis is a part-time position, up to 29 hrs per week, and the hourly rate is $18. We are open to providing academic credit for this position where applicable so please let us know in your cover letter if this is an option for you.
