Join us and do things you never dreamed possible.Here Is What You Will Be DoingDaily unloading of materials from trailers and rail carsOperate or learn to operate rail car loading systems and equipmentAbility to perform work safely and productivelyEnforces safety policies and procedures with other Team Members and visitorsAssist with other duties within the facility (general maintenance, landscape upkeep, and painting)Manage customer orders and inventory systems.Answer phones and assisting with customer needsAccountable for all office functions by maintaining control of ability to meet customer expectationsMonitor Emails throughout day for order status changes/additions, other customer needsEnter customer orders and railcar shipments in Savage systems inventory and have verified prior to railcar/truck arrivals by another employeeFaxing/emailing of Bill of Ladings to customers and designated parties (as required)Prepare documentation for truck arrivals and departures (Bill of Lading, Truck Arrival Checklist).Contact carriers to schedule pick up timesInform customers of impacts to deliveriesRequirements Of a Successful Transload OperatorHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent Read, write, and understand EnglishCapable to learn how to operate and maintain railcar/trans-loading equipment (e.g., Hoses, portable conveyors, transfer pumps, portable stair systems, small to medium-sized equipment, track mobile, etc.)Ability and willingness to travel to other transload terminals to assist when necessary; maybe for up to a week at a time.Prepare load schedule for next day's loadsEnsure all railcars’ Inbound and Outbound inspections are completed before filingHere are some of the physical requirements for this role: Ability to work outside in ALL weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps)Physically able to climb up and down railcars/ladders safelyWilling to receive general safety trainingWilling to work with liquid hazardous and dry bulk materialsCan carry at least fifty (50) poundsIn good physical condition (able to walk one (1) to two (2) miles per shift) #IND1Additional InformationA complete job description is available upon requestSavage is an Equal Opportunity Employer and maintains a drug-free workplaceCalifornia Residents Job Application Privacy Notice You may view available jobs at www.savageco.com/careers and apply using the online job posting.Eligible full-time team members may participate in the company benefit package, which currently includes medical, dental, and vision plans; company-paid life, AD&D and disability insurance; supplemental life and disability options; health savings and flex spending accounts; profit sharing; and a 401(k) plan with match.
