In-School Tutor

*CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* * Provide competent and effective educational support for assigned students and subject matter * Must be confident and capable of communicating and teaching assigned subject-matter on the spot * Prepare for each instructional session; gather and prepare materials as appropriate including review and understanding of individual student requirements * Develop relationships and take a vested interest in each student such that the student feels comfortable and the tutor is informed on the learning needs and progress of each student * Comply with all Studyville objectives, guidelines and procedures regarding student interactions, dress code, and communication expectations * Maintain daily student records including evaluation and tracking of progress * Be positive, enthusiastic, and encouraging through all student interaction *REQUIREMENTS* * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to relate with students * Tutoring/teaching experience in K-5 Literacy/ELA * Reliable transportation to tutor on-site at schools throughout the following school districts: EBR, Central, Baker, and Zachary *SCHEDULE* * Must have daytime availability M-F * Expected hours: 2-3 hour shifts, 3 days/week at each school (9 hours/week minimum, increased hours if working at more than one school). *Possibility to stack tutoring at more than one school for additional hours.* Job Type: Part-time Pay: From $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 9 – 25 per week Benefits: * Flexible schedule Schedule: * Day shift * Monday to Friday Education: * Bachelor's (Preferred) Experience: * Tutoring: 2 years (Required) License/Certification: * Teaching Certification (Preferred) Work Location: In person
