Internal Medicine Physician

Story County Medical Center is seeking a patient-centered Internal Medicine Physician to join our team in Nevada, Iowa. This role focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of adult and chronic conditions. What You’ll Do Provide comprehensive care for adult patients, including diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions Develop and manage individualized, evidence-based care plans Deliver preventive care, including screenings, immunizations, and lifestyle counseling Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular conditions Participate in minimal rotational inpatient and skilled care call Collaborate with specialists, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care Educate patients and families on treatment plans and long-term health management Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development What We’re Looking For Required: MD or DO from an accredited medical school Licensed to practice medicine in Iowa Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine DEA registration BLS certification ACLS certification Mandatory Reporter certifications Preferred: PALS certification Previous experience in internal medicine or primary care Key Skills & Strengths Strong clinical expertise in adult and chronic disease management Ability to manage complex, multi-system conditions Patient-centered communication and relationship-building skills Collaborative approach within a multidisciplinary team Critical thinking and problem-solving abilitiesComfort with EMR systems and healthcare technology Why Story County Medical Center?
