If you've worked in the field, led crews, and take pride in keeping people safe, and building the next leader, this is your opportunity to make an impact in this industry.What You'll DoLeading and reinforcing Irby's culture of Ownership of SafetyCoaching crews to identify and correct hazards in real timeIntegrating safety planning into daily operations from pre-construction through completionSupporting safe execution of transmission activities, including:Structure erection, wire stringing, rigging, energized line work, grounding, and heavy equipment operations and moreLeading tailgate talks, site meetings, and on-the-job trainingManaging incident investigations, reporting, and corrective actionsEnsuring OSHA compliance, audits, and documentationDriving continuous improvement and proactive risk managementWhat You'll BringA safety professional who's lived the work and can lead with both experience and knowledge. Requirements:5+ years of field safety or leadership experience (e.g., General Foreman, Crew Lead, Journeyman Lineman, Operator, Crane experience) in Transmission Powerline and Substation ConstructionStrong communication and leadership skills with credibility in the fieldProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)Knowledge and/or experience with safety documentation and reporting systemsCommunication skills (verbally and electronically)Preferred, not required:First Aid/CPR/AED & Bloodborne Pathogens Trainer CertificationCHST or similar safety credentialWho You Are:Experienced in powerline or transmission work environmentsA coach and leader who builds safe habits without slowing progressOrganized, self-motivated, and decisive in the fieldSkilled in safety training, observations, and reportingHold a valid driver's license and willing to travel within Texas or surrounding statesWhy You'll Love Working with Irby: At Irby Construction, safety is a core value, not a checkbox.
