In the case of conflict between the information listed and the official plan documents, the plan documents will always govern.Job SummaryThe Controller is responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations and ensuring the timely, accurate preparation of financial information in accordance with GAAP. The Controller reports to the Director of Finance & Accounting, this role will manage the monthly close process, supervise the Accounting Team, strengthen internal controls, and support leadership with financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting. The Controller will play a key role in process improvement, system optimization within Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, and audit coordination. This is a hybrid position requiring one day per week in the Perrysburg, Ohio office.Key Job Responsibilities:Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statementsOversee the general ledger, including account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and intercompany transactionsSupervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff; review work for accuracy and completenessCoordinate with external tax providers on income, personal property, and sales taxOversee fixed assets, including capitalizations, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliationsSupport the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and budget-to-actual variance analysisDevelop, document, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure GAAP complianceSupport and lead the coordination of the annual auditPartner with the Director of Finance & Accounting on financial analysis, special projects, and process improvementsAssist with cash forecasting and oversight of AP, AR, and credit card reconciliation processesSupport ERP functionality and continuous improvement efforts within Microsoft Business CentralProvide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to support operational and strategic decision-makingOther duties as assigned*This job description is subject to change at any time.RequirementsJob Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting requiredCPA or Masters in Accounting is a plus, but not required8-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilitiesStrong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reportingExperience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics Business Central preferredAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Word and PowerPointStrong attention to detail with a high level of accuracyExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentProven ability to collaborate across departments and support a hybrid/remote work environmentPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
