CRISP Shared Services (CSS) serves as the technology partner for health information exchange (HIE) affiliates in Maryland, DC, West Virginia, Connecticut, Alaska, Virginia and other jurisdictions. CSS facilitates the electronic transfer of clinical information between disparate information systems in order to positively impact the healthcare system through improved patient care and outcomes, reduced costs, and data-driven understanding of regional public health concerns.
Job Summary
The Automation Engineer will be responsible for creating, configuring, and maintaining automation scripts that allow CSS to accelerate set up of data exchanges with its customers and partners. The ideal candidate will work with Tech Leads, Engineers, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance Engineers, and Support Analysts to identify and develop automated solutions to improve workflow and system processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open-source tools.
Work with internal team members and CSS’s customers to improve new data feed onboardings and connections for sharing data.
Maintain operational status of production automation scripts.
Troubleshoot errors or issues with production scripts.
Implement automation scripts, keeping best practices and security measures in mind.
Document scripts’ purpose, troubleshooting tips, and known issues on confluence wiki.
Work with members from other teams to ensure successful integrations and inter-system operability.
Qualifications

Integration experience, understanding of HL7 messages required.
Ability to create and understand technical documentation.
Ability to manage the Software Lifecycle Development Cycle in an organized fashion.
Ability to understand data encryption principles, including VPN and TLS connections.
Outstanding communication, organizational and interpersonal skills with both a technical and non-technical audience.
Ability to evaluate and solve complex problems and issues.
Experience and/or Education Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or information systems, preferred.
2 to 4 years of work experience in Healthcare technology.
Experience with healthcare integrations, required.
Working knowledge of Mirth Connect, JavaScript, HL7v2, and HL7v3 (CCDA), required.
Experience with Python, a plus.
Knowledge of FHIR, a plus.
