This is a Hybrid role 2 days a week in our Durham, NC Office (American Tobacco Campus) The OpportunityACA is seeking a Full Stack / Platform Engineer (Python, React, AWS) to help build and enhance our Research Compliance Solutions platform, a cloud-native SaaS solution that combines AI-powered technology with expert human oversight to simplify and strengthen compliance in investment research.This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining scalable backend services, modern user interfaces, cloud infrastructure, and automation frameworks that power real-time call screening, transcript analysis, search capabilities, and compliance workflows.The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with experience designing, building, and deploying cloud-native applications and is comfortable working across the full technology stack. This individual will play a key role in shaping technical solutions, influencing platform architecture, and driving innovation across ACA's Research Compliance Solutions platform.What You'll DoDesign, develop, and maintain scalable backend services supporting AI-powered compliance workflows, transcription, search, analytics, and user-facing applicationsBuild and enhance modern web applications using React and TypeScriptDevelop and maintain REST APIs and microservices architecture supporting platform integrations and data pipelinesBuild, deploy, and support containerized applications using Docker and KubernetesDevelop and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code practices, including AWS CDKPartner with Product, Compliance, Data Science, and Engineering teams to deliver innovative platform capabilitiesDesign and optimize data storage solutions using PostgreSQL and related technologiesCreate and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and efficient software deliveryContribute to automated testing and quality engineering practices using technologies such as Selenium, Playwright, and TypeScript-based automation frameworksTroubleshoot production issues and drive platform scalability, reliability, and performance improvementsParticipate in architectural discussions and contribute to the future direction of the Research Compliance Solutions platformTranslate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and help drive architecture and design decisions across the platformTo Qualify for the Role, You Must HaveStrong professional experience developing applications with PythonExperience building modern web applications using React and TypeScriptExperience developing and supporting microservices-based architecturesHands-on experience with Docker and containerized application developmentExperience deploying and supporting applications in AWS cloud environmentsExperience working with Kubernetes and container orchestration platformsStrong knowledge of API design and developmentExperience working with relational databases, including PostgreSQLExperience designing scalable software solutions, APIs, and distributed systems in a cloud-native environmentStrong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skillsExperience working within Agile software development environmentsSkills and Attributes for SuccessExperience building cloud-native SaaS applicationsUnderstanding of scalable distributed systems and event-driven architecturesFamiliarity with AI-enabled applications, data pipelines, or machine learning-powered platformsStrong collaboration and communication skillsAbility to work across backend, frontend, cloud infrastructure, and testing disciplinesAbility to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and contribute to architectural decisionsPassion for automation, quality, and continuous improvementAbility to balance innovation with reliability in regulated environmentsSelf-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environmentNice to HaveAWS CDK (TypeScript)Amazon EKSRedis or ValkeySeleniumPlaywrightCI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or JenkinsExperience supporting AI, NLP, transcription, chat, search, or compliance-related platformsExperience working within financial services, compliance, surveillance, or regulatory technology environments
