This role sits at the intersection of developer experience, telecom infrastructure, and business strategy, and is responsible for defining and delivering capabilities that power next-generation voice applications.You will drive product vision, roadmap, and execution for APIs that enable call control, conferencing, recordings, and real-time communications-while ensuring reliability, scalability, and ease of use for developers.What You'll Do:Product Strategy & OwnershipDefine and own the roadmap for Programmable Voice APIs, aligned with company strategy and market opportunitiesBuild compelling business cases for new features and investments (ROI, cost modeling, pricing strategy)Identify opportunities in emerging areas such as AI-driven voice, automation, and real-time communicationsCustomer & Market FocusDevelop deep empathy for developers, product teams, and enterprise customersGather insights through customer interviews, usage data, and support trendsTranslate customer pain points into clear product requirements and improvementsTechnical Product LeadershipWork closely with engineering to design scalable, reliable API architecturesDrive improvements in API usability, documentation, and developer onboardingEnsure high-quality integrations across webhooks, REST APIs, and event-driven systemsExecution & DeliveryPartner with engineering, design, and operations teams to deliver features end-to-endDefine success metrics (adoption, latency, reliability, revenue impact)Lead backlog prioritization, sprint planning, and release executionCross-Functional CollaborationCollaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to position and launch featuresEnable internal teams with clear messaging, documentation, and trainingSupport strategic customers and partners during integrationsSuccess in This Role Looks Like:Increased adoption and usage of Voice APIsImproved developer satisfaction and reduced time-to-first-callDelivery of scalable, reliable features that drive revenue growthClear differentiation against competitors in developer experience and capabilitiesWhat You Need:Core SkillsStrong business case development skills (financial modeling, pricing, ROI analysis)Deep customer empathy, especially for developers and technical usersAbility to translate complex technical concepts into clear product directionTechnical ExpertiseExperience with web service APIs (REST, webhooks, event-driven architectures)Familiarity with real-time communications systemsWorking knowledge of telecom technologies such as:Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)VoIP networking concepts (latency, jitter, call flows)Session Border Controllers (SBCs) and call routing architectures (nice to have)Experience5+ years of product management experience (preferably in APIs, communications, or SaaS platforms)Experience working with engineering teams on highly technical productsBackground in telecom, CPaaS, or developer platforms is strongly preferredBonus Points:Experience with contact center platforms, AI voice agents, or conversational AIFamiliarity with competitors such as Twilio or other CPaaS providersExperience with observability tools, logging, and debugging platformsWhy Bandwidth:Opportunity to shape the future of programmable voice and real-time communicationsWork on mission-critical infrastructure used by global enterprisesCollaborative, developer-focused culture with strong technical depthThe Whole Person Promise:At Bandwidth, we're pretty proud of our corporate culture, which is rooted in our "Whole Person Promise."
