Moore School Date Available: 07/01/2026 SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT #15 DISTRICT: Candia POSITION: Maintenance Director SUPERVISOR: Principal POSITION GOAL: To maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use may be made at all times. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school diploma or equivalency Certification: Ability to acquire licensing and certification required by the State of New Hampshire. Experience: Experience in maintenance, including 2 years in a supervisory capacity. Criminal Record Check: Required per NH RSA 189:13-a Pre-Employment Medical Exam: Required per NH RSA 200:36 and 275:3 EVALUATION: Performance of position responsibilities will be evaluated annually in accordance with the approved administrative procedure for staff evaluations. Hire, supervise, and evaluate custodial staff. 2. Train custodians on a recurring basis, in efficient, safe work methods using the most current methods. 3. Monitor and evaluate custodian performance with building principals. 4. Conduct building safety meetings, asbestos training, and training in systems management. 5. Maintain buildings and grounds in appropriate condition. 6. Conduct routine condition reviews including asbestos compliance. 7. Maintain on a regular schedule all systems necessary for building operations. 8. Conduct routine safety surveys and report results to Principal and recommend appropriate corrective action. 9. Secure contractors to accomplish work which is beyond custodians' and/or maintenance director's capability and monitor contractors' performance. 10. Prepare annual budgets with Principal for buildings and grounds budget accounts. 11. Maintain an inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment. 12. Perform appropriate maintenance and repair activities, estimate cost of repair projects in terms of labor, material, and overhead; and respond to unforeseen conditions and emergencies. 13. Orders materials as needed and makes recommendations of supplies and equipment for purchase. 14. Regulates heat and ventilation systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to insure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity. 15. Consults with Principal regarding the establishment of regular preventative maintenance programs. 16. Checks daily to ensure all exit doors are open and all panic bars are working properly during the hours of building occupancy. 17. Maintains exteriors walkways, driveways, parking, areas, steps, and fire exits to keep in safe condition. 18. Supervises and/or assists in such daily custodial cleaning duties as necessary to insure that toilets, bathroom floors, sanitary fixtures, drinking fountains are clean and such duties that keep floors in a clean an attractive condition and in a good state of preservation. 19. Instruct custodians verbally and in writing in building and grounds, custodial, and routine preventative maintenance activities. 20. Assists visiting public utilizing facilities with directions within the building and in obtaining and setting up needed equipment. 21. Maintains work-related records and prepares various reports as directed. 22. Assigns work schedules and duties for summer cleaning and repair. 23.
