Location: Portland, ORPosition Type: ContractorAbout the RoleWe're seeking a skilled Frontend Developer to join our team and help create sophisticated, custom graphical user interfaces for high-end automation systems. You'll bring designs to life through elegant code and smooth animations, building control interfaces for post-production theaters, government facilities, commercial venues, luxury residential properties, and superyachts.What You'll BuildYou'll implement polished, production-ready GUIs for complex automation systems that control:Post-production theaters and screening roomsGovernment and military facilitiesPrivate and commercial entertainment venuesWhole home automation systemsYacht automation and control systemsWorking closely with our design team, you'll transform their vision into responsive, intuitive interfaces that users interact with daily to control lighting, audio/visual systems, climate, security, and more.What You'll DoDevelop custom React applications with clean, maintainable TypeScript code.Implement micro-animations, transitions, and page animations that enhance user experience.Build responsive layouts using modern HTML and CSS.Write comprehensive unit tests to ensure reliability and stability.Collaborate with designers to faithfully execute their vision while providing technical guidance.Optimize performance for smooth interactions across various devices and screen sizes.Maintain code quality and contribute to our component library.Required SkillsReact - Strong experience building component-based applicationsTypeScript - Comfortable writing type-safe codeHTML/CSS - Expert-level knowledge of semantic markup and modern CSSAnimation - Proven experience implementing smooth micro-interactions, transitions, and animations (CSS animations, transitions, or animation libraries)Testing - Experience writing unit tests (Jest, React Testing Library, or similar)Attention to Detail - Pixel-perfect implementation and smooth animation timingCollaboration - Excellent communication skills for working with designers and engineersIdeal CandidateYou care deeply about craft and polish.
