Shoe Repair Technician / Apprentice Cobbler

We are looking for a Shoe Repair Technician to join our shop. Whether you are a seasoned pro with a finishing nailer or a hobbyist who is exceptionally good with their hands, we want to talk to you. We deal in the "dying art" of craftsmanship—resurrecting beloved footwear and leather goods to their former glory. What You’ll Be Doing General Repairs: Replacing heels, resoling boots, and patching leather. Machinery Work: Safe operation of finishers, grinders, and heavy-duty sewing machines (don't worry, we’ll train you). Detailing: Cleaning, buffing, polishing, and dyeing leather to a professional standard. Problem Solving: Assessing damaged items and determining the best "surgical" path to fix them. Customer Interaction: Helping neighbors understand the value of a good repair. What We’re Looking For Hand-Eye Coordination: You should be highly proficient working with your hands and small tools. Experience: Previous shoe repair or leatherwork experience is a huge plus, but not required. If you have a background in carpentry, upholstery, tailoring, or even high-level model building, your skills will likely transfer. Attention to Detail: In this job, a millimeter is the difference between a perfect fit and an uncomfortable walk. Patience: Craftsmanship can't be rushed.
