On contract days, need to be available during the following times: Every other day at 10:05-11:15 on most days, 9:25-10:35 on Wednesdays. Second semester an additional class is added from 8:30-9:20 most days but 7:55-8:45 on Wednesdays. Attendance at staff meetings and parent engagement events will be prorated to the 0.2 FTE level.TYPICAL JOB DUTIES:Develop innovative lesson plans that encourage engagement and promote learningConduct classroom instruction in a way that helps each and every student learnEvaluates student learning through both formative and summative methodsReflects on the instructional practices and techniques used to help refine teaching techniquesRegularly communicates with parents/guardians about academic progress and behavior to help promote a cooperative approach to helping students growRegularly monitors student progress and adjusts instruction to meet individual needsCollaborates with department members and other colleagues to help improve both the student experience and instructional techniquesParticipates in building-wide activities to help promote a positive culture for both students and staffPROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Helps students learn all appropriate state standards for their subject area as defined by the district-approved curriculumResponsible for creating instructional activities and lesson plans for all student days, including when the staff member is absentModify lessons and activities, with the help of special education staff, to meet the needs of all students with IEPsAssess student learning and performance on a regular basis, providing feedback to both the student and their parent/guardian through our online portalAvailable outside of the school day to meet with colleges, administrators, students, and parents when required or requested to fulfill other job dutiesMaintain accurate and complete records regarding grades, attendance, progress, and behavior of studentsIs knowledgeable of and actively works to uphold and enforce school board policies, administrative procedures, and school rulesRegularly checks email and other methods of correspondence to ensure knowledge is up to date and the lines of communication remain openAttend additional training, both in building and out, as needed to stay up to date and current on instructional best practices, behavior management techniques, and content-specific itemsRegularly demonstrate a growth mindset for both students and staffTake creative risks to help students learn more effectivelyMaintain a positive and professional approach when interacting with students, parents, community, and other staff
