PARK ATTENDANT
Job Posting Employer: Orangeburg, County Of SC Location: Orangeburg, SC Job Type: Part-Time Department: INDIAN BLUFF Closing Date: Continuous General Description The purpose of this job is to ensure that all parks in the County are kept clean of litter, properly mowed and all structures and equipment are safe and functional. This class works under close supervision according to set procedures. Duties and Responsibilities Unlocks gate to open park to the public and locks gate to close park. Keeps bathroom clean by sweeping and mopping floors and sanitizing toilets. Empties trash containers and picks up trash from grounds. Collect trash off of Red Bank Rd daily as needed. Blows leaves off playground, cement, and walkways in the woods. Removes burned on materials from charcoal grills. Removes trash and debris from beaches. Sweeps and mops office floors and removes trash. Rakes grass and leaves from park grounds Trim trees and bushes as needed Spray weed killer and keep application records Collect limbs and branches as needed Grade boat parking lot monthly Calls 911 in emergencies. Paints/repairs park buildings and fence as needed. Ensure waterfronts, piers, boardwalks, and boat landings are clear of debris. Maintain/ Repair all equipment such as changing oil, fuel filters, tires, blades, belts in lawnmowers, weed eaters, blowers etc. as needed and keep a log. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent. No prior experience is required. Physical Demands Performs medium to heavy work that involves walking, standing, stooping, lifting, digging, pushing and raising objects and also involves exerting between 20 to 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis and 50 to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis. Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment) Involves routine and frequent exposure to: Bright/dim light; Dusts and pollen. Extreme heat and/or cold; Wet or humid conditions. Extreme noise levels, Animals/wildlife. Vibration; Fumes and/or noxious odors. Traffic; Moving machinery. Electrical shock; Heights. Special Certifications and Licenses None.
