With offices strategically located worldwide, Global Edge is known for the highest level of delivery for our clients and contractors.ELECTRICAL ENGINEERGeneral Responsibilities:The primary purpose of this Electrical Engineer position is to provide electrical engineering support for a Chemical manufacturing facility in Pasadena, TX. This role reports to the Engineering Manager. Key responsibilities include supporting capital projects, assisting operations, and providing technical support to maintenance for inspections, repairs, and compliance at all Motor Control Centers and power substations. The Electrical Engineer will lead electrical engineering activities for capital projects, implement equipment and technology upgrades as needed, and support the Process Safety Management (PSM) program. The role also involves developing and leading electrical safety improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability. The Electrical Engineer designs, implements, supports, and optimizes electrical systems such as PLCs, HMIs, and Emerson DeltaV, and general instrumentation, to enhance process safety and manufacturing efficiency. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with electrical engineering and regulatory standards, and will frequently collaborate with senior process engineers, instrumentation and controls specialists, E&I technicians, and operations leaders. In addition to providing technical leadership in electrical engineering, this role will support the Process Safety Management (PSM) Program, focusing on Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and related safety elements. The Electrical Engineer will also assist with Management of Change (MOC) initiatives and contribute to developing single-line diagrams, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and control logic for new commercial facilities. Furthermore, the electrical engineer will support the DCS Guardian with Emerson DeltaV equipment, hardware, and software in each operational area. Specific Duties:Electrical Engineering Lead for Capital Projects including writing E&I project scopes, marking up and approving E&I drawings, establishing and maintaining installation details and standards, providing E&I construction, check-out and start-up support for capital projects and annual shutdowns.Design & Implementation: Support electrical control systems (Emerson DeltaV, PLCs, SCADA, HMI).Troubleshooting & Support: Provide technical support for complex operational issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve process deviations.Optimization & Improvement: Analyze electrical and process data to identify opportunities for optimization, reduce manual interventions, and enhance performance metrics.Project Management: Lead electrical engineer role for capital projects from concept through commissioning, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor coordination.Documentation & Compliance: Create and maintain electrical documents and ensure adherence to industry standards (OSHA, PSM).Expert troubleshooting skills: the ability to analyze electrical safety and control issues and identify root causes to various operational issues.Manage electrical equipment files and electrical drawing updates. Qualification Requirements:A minimum of 5-10 years of electrical engineering experience in chemical plant/industrial/highly hazardous manufacturing processes. Significant experience and strong competency with MCC’s, power substations, Emerson DeltaV DCSBS degree in Electrical Engineering.Strong analytical and process control fundamentals and problem-solving skills.Strong experience with variable frequency drives and unit power distribution systems. General skills in DCS equipment and configuring DCS networks.Demonstrated knowledge of E&I drawings including electrical schematics, logic diagrams, loop sheets, and P&I diagrams. A demonstrated knowledge of process measurement/transmitters is requiredFundamental understanding of all PSM Elements.Experience in granulated fertilizers manufacturing facilities is a plus.Demonstrated strong leadership and teamwork abilities. The job does require frequent work and presence in all operating areas of the plant.
