Advertised salaries are reflective of the 2025-2026 School Year and will be updated after 2026-2027 School Year budget approval.*Spotsylvania County Public Schools is seeking a student-focused, dedicated Special Education Paraeducator to assist teachers and other professional practitioners by providing instructional support in self-contained classrooms with students who have special needs whose educational needs are not met by a general education environment.Essential Job Functions:Assist students with the organization and completion of daily work assignmentsAssist in maintaining a safe, nurturing, and healthy atmosphere, which may include assisting students with social skill development, personal hygiene, toiletry needs/toilet trainingFollows established procedures for monitoring and redirecting student behavior when supervising small groupsMaintains and organizes students instructional materials and/or cumulative filesAdminister and/or assist with preparing for various assessments for students as necessaryUses special skills (i.e. sign language, transliterating, advanced computer training) to assist in two-way communication between the teacher and the student as necessaryPerforms additional non-instructional duties including, but not limited to, cafeteria duty, bus duty, hall duty, and office duty Click here to read the full Job Description for this role.
