Senior Paralegal

Overview: Strategic Communications is seeking a Senior Paralegal to join our growing and dynamic team. Candidate must have strong analytical and writing skills and should have at least 5 years’ experience with drafting and negotiating contracts. Knowledge of bid protests, acquisition regulation (including FAR and DFARS) compliance, federal and state subcontracting, related dispute and flow-down/compliance issues; multiple award contracts, and small business procurement strongly preferred.Key Responsibilities:Government ContractsAssist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating government contracts, subcontracts, and amendmentsSupport compliance with applicable regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific requirementsMonitor contract obligations, flow-down clauses, reporting requirements, and performance milestonesAssist with proposal reviews, bid submissions, responses to government inquiries, and audit supportConduct legal research on government contracting issues and prepare summaries and recommendationsGeneral Corporate Legal SupportPerform general legal document review across the company, including policies, statements of work, licensing terms, and internal agreementsAssist with maintaining and improving contract templates and clause librariesSupport internal legal processes, contract management systems, and document retention practicesCoordinate with internal stakeholders (sales, finance, operations, HR, and compliance) to address legal needsLiaise with and escalate matters to outside counsel as neededCommercial Contracts & PartnershipsDraft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including partnership agreements, vendor agreements, and customer contractsDraft, review, and manage non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), teaming agreements, and memoranda of understanding (MOUs)Support negotiations with commercial partners to align legal terms with business objectivesLegal ResearchConduct research on relevant laws and regulations to support business activities.Analyze complex legal issues and present options for resolution.Minimum Qualifications5+ years of relevant experience in reviewing, negotiating, and complying with government contractsWorking knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and basic government procurement principlesStrong research, writing, and analytical skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced business environmentPreferred QualificationsAssociate’s Degree or certificate in Business Law & Paralegal StudiesExperience with DoD contractingExposure to compliance programs, audits, or investigationsKey CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and sound judgmentClear written and verbal communication skillsBusiness-minded approach to legal riskCollaborative and service-oriented mindsetHigh level of professionalism and discretion Physical Requirements:Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 20% of the time. The work environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are reasonable.
