Electrical Distribution Design Specialist

About the Role We seek a detail-oriented Electric Distribution Designer to bolster our team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in the planning, design, and documentation of electrical distribution projects, ensuring reliable service for residential and commercial clients. Proficiency in GE Smallworld GIS and drafting techniques is essential for success. Responsibilities Translate customer needs and project specifications into precise 2D and 3D design models. Design electric systems, determine transformer sizes, and plan underground cable routes and pole placements. Prepare comprehensive documentation, including bills of material and construction support drawings, to facilitate project execution. Conduct field assessments to gather data and ensure designs meet real-world conditions, contributing to safe and reliable electric service. Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to refine designs and resolve project-related issues. Utilize SAP to review new customer requests and project details, ensuring accurate and timely project initiation. Qualifications Required Skills Experience with GE Smallworld GIS or similar GIS software. Solid understanding of electrical distribution systems and design principles. Proficiency in preparing 2D and 3D models and design documentation. High School Diploma or GED. Preferred Skills Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise resource planning systems. Background in electrical, utility, construction, or infrastructure sectors. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and data sheets.
