Job Description :George Schmitt & Co., Inc. is a security printing and converting company located in Guilford, CT. This is a full time position.We are seeking an experienced person to do machining and building maintenance as part of the engineering team In our Guilford facility. This is a job shop type of environment with broad in the day to day assignments. This job requires an energetic, responsible and mature individual with high mechanical comprehension. The successful applicant must have the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.The Maintenance Mechanic is an integral part of a small technical team in a job shop environment with broad in the day to day assignments including machinery, support equipment and facility.Duties IncludeProviding mechanical system diagnostics & repair support to production departments which operate printing presses, converting, test & material handling equipment;Building & installing machine upgrades and retrofits;Moving equipment;Provide support for a wide range of facility related needs.This Candidate Must Have 10+ years of experience in hands-on machine repair; Have their own tools basic mechanic tools; Be proficient reading CAD drawings, understand tolerances and be capable of measuring part dimensions; Have a working knowledge of manual machine tools for milling & turning; Be proficient in TIG & MIG welding. Sheet metal work is occasional but essential.
