Handcuffs Assembler

Position Overview:Perform routine assembly duties associated with production of handcuffs and restraints. These duties may be manual or automated machine oriented. Will be expected to perform assembly, simple operations, change tooling and adjust assigned machine or multiple machines that perform operations such as pin insertion, riveting, welding, twist links, mill swivels and restraint qualification.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Operate machine or group of machines and adjust as needed to maintain tolerancesAssemble components as required and defined by training and work instructions.Weld swivel assemblies.Remove and replace cutters, tooling, etc., and re-adjust machine to bring part into gage.Perform basic data collection functions as directed.Practice good housekeeping and 5S requirementsPerform prescribed preventative maintenance (PM) on machines as required per the PM charts.Gage all parts at frequency specified, using the appropriate gage or measuring device.Safely handle and transport materials, parts, supplies, etc., within department.Work to meet or exceed schedule/job standard and quality requirementsMay need to perform manual work having to do with the handling of materialsRegularly calibrate precision measuring devices to assure proper measurementsKeep work area and equipment clean, safe and orderly.Follow all safety and EH&S requirements and use of personal protective equipmentEnsure to practice safety requirements and keep machine guards in place at all timesOpenly offer job suggestions for possible improvements such as methods, procedures, ways of doing things, housekeeping, safety, training, etc.Monitor and verify quality in accordance with work instructions, statistical process or any other variances of control procedures prescribed for certifying or testing equipmentMay be required to perform other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as directed by Supervisor or another designated person.Be actively involved and willing to complete all training requirements to advance skills and proficiencies.Attendance is an essential function of the job.NOTE: This list presents only the principal duties of the position and is not intended to be comprehensive.
