Job Description for Instructional Aide – Global Family Street Academy (Oakland Academy of Knowledge).BenefitsPay rate: $70,304 - $72,500 annually, full-time 40 hours a week, year-round.Up to 16 paid BACR holidays and 25 school holidays per year.Stepping stone into a career in education, leadership, advocacy, social entrepreneurship, and social justice.Employee assistance program, medical, dental, vision, wellness program, life insurance.Flexible spending account, transit and parking flexible spending accounts for commuting expenses.403(b) plan.Paid time off for up to 16 BACR holidays and 25 school holidays.QualificationsAssociate Degree or higher; alternatively, completion of at least 48 college units, or a passing score on the Instructional Aide Exam.Successful completion of a criminal background check and TB test clearance.3 years of experience in a K-12 setting, or other youth-lead program.At least 2 years of supervisory experience with a demonstrated ability to effectively lead and support a team of adults.Proficiency in technology and computer applications (Word, email, Google Drive, etc.).Available full-time, Monday through Friday.Willing to commit to a full academic school year.Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, and be capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time.Key ResponsibilitiesChild and Youth Growth and DevelopmentFoster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that supports the developmental, cognitive, social-emotional, and physical needs of youth; build positive relationships with students and encourage youth voice and leadership; resolve conflict and guide student behavior restoratively.Learning Environments and Curriculum DesignDesign and deliver project-based, culturally responsive, and enrichment-focused curriculum aligned with the school-day learning and youth interests; implement academic support, SEL, and enrichment activities that reflect best practices in youth development.Child/Youth Observation and AssessmentTrack student participation, progress, and engagement to inform planning and ensure continuous improvement; support individual learning goals and behavior strategies in coordination with school-day educators.Program Planning and DevelopmentDevelop program schedules, lesson plans, and materials to meet program goals and compliance standards; coordinate logistics, including space usage, supplies, and daily operations; engage in a data-driven program quality improvement process using assessment and reflection data; collaborate with school site stakeholders to develop programs that support student development and academic success.Family, School, and Community RelationshipsCultivate strong relationships with school staff, families, and community partners to support program outcomes; facilitate family engagement events and communicate regularly with caregivers.Health, Safety, and WellnessEnsure that program practices meet or exceed health and safety standards; uphold policies related to child supervision, emergency preparedness, and mandated reporting; ensure safety standards, policies, and procedures are being met at all times.Professionalism and LeadershipServe as a role model for staff and youth; uphold high ethical and professional standards; maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a high degree of integrity; participate in ongoing professional development aligned with the NAA competencies; provide professional development, monthly meetings, and 1:1 supervision check-ins for all staff; participate in all meetings, workshops, and activities organized by BACR and District partners; have working knowledge of DEI concepts.Program Administration and OversightSupervise program staff, volunteers, and activity leaders; manage attendance records, reporting requirements, and assist with grant compliance; submit all required documentation on a timely basis, including program reports and monthly student attendance and snack reports; manage day-to-day operations, facilities management, and student recruitment, enrollment, scheduling, and registration procedures; carry out People and Culture procedures and practices for staff recruitment, screening, hiring, and termination; track and monitor payroll by deadline.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to perceived age, marital or familial status, religion, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, race, creed, color, genetic information, ancestry, national origin, physical or mental disability including AIDS or AIDS-Related Complex or military status.BACR is an equal opportunity employer.J-18808-Ljbffr
