As the Dean of Faculty, you will be at the forefront of our institution, responsible for overseeing academic programs, supporting faculty development, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional educational experiences. In this pivotal role, you will lead the academic department, set strategic goals, and ensure the highest standards of educational excellence are upheld across all programs. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future direction of our institution.ResponsibilitiesStudent Retention and SatisfactionAll programs exceed the minimum accreditation (NACCAS 50% or COE 60%) benchmark completion annually.Partner with Career Services to ensure all programs exceed a minimum of 70% placement annually.All programs exceed a minimum of 70% exam pass rate annually, with 90% of graduates successfully passing exams.Ensure faculty prepare graduates to be career-minded and career-ready to achieve placement goals in all programs.Support, communicate, and model the concepts taught in the curriculum to ensure students embrace the processes that will aid their future success.Partner with Career Services regarding student issues or concerns prior to and during externship. Students are Education's responsibility through externship.Ensure classroom facilities are clean and customer-friendly.Resolve faculty requests/concerns within 24-48 hours.Faculty Management / SupervisionMaintain faculty through interviewing and hiring, and hold them accountable through coaching, development, and termination.Train faculty on policy and procedures using the faculty manual and other tools.Monitor faculty progress to ensure successful completion of training by deadlines.Provide all new faculty safety training within the first two weeks of employment.Ensure all classes are taught by qualified and effective instructors, both on campus and virtually.Ensure faculty follow campus and company policies and procedures.Observe faculty at least six times per year, meet within 24-48 hours for feedback and coaching.Validate instructors teach the prescribed curriculum and meet distance education expectations.Facilitate monthly faculty meetings with agenda, minutes, and sign-in sheet.Ensure each instructor completes two employer site visits per year.Ensure curriculum is followed and updates are rolled out successfully.Ensure classroom equipment is adequate, in good working order, and in proper quantity.Ensure classroom supplies meet curriculum requirements and inventory is managed effectively.Assure instructors receive new-hire training, attend staff meetings, and complete 12 hours of continuing education annually.Maintain stable instructional staff to positively impact student retention; keep voluntary attrition = 20% per year.Ensure at least 90% of annual evaluations are completed, submitted to HR.Follow HR policies for new hire, payroll, background checks, and termination.Manage faculty schedules, monitor instructor-student ratios, and complete payroll requirements per HR guidelines.Administrative ResponsibilitiesParticipate in campus staff and management meetings, Education Leader conference calls, and monthly accreditation meetings.Partner with Campus Director to execute COE Occupational Advisory Committee meetings and Institutional Advisory Committee meetings.Prepare and submit monthly Completion Projection Report as required.Execute HR policies and procedures, including payroll, terminations, and hiring.Cooperate with all departments for transparency and effective communication.Update/Post documents quarterly: Continuing Education Documentation, Instructor Observations, New Instructor Checklist, Employer Visit Forms, Faculty Meeting documentation, Theory schedules, and other required documentation.RequirementsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of 3 years experience in academic administration or instructional capacity, preferably at a post-secondary institution.Cosmetology or related programs license preferred.Teaching experience preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Passion for student success.Organizational skills to manage multiple projects.Customer service focus.Results-oriented with strong follow-through.Integrity and ethical standards.Alignment with core values: accountability, integrity, growth, service, communication.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Adaptability to technology, including LMS and SIS.Ability to coach and guide faculty.Training skills for faculty development.Company Benefits include group health insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, Employee Stock Ownership Plan, PTO, and holiday pay.
