Work includes specialized equipment operation and/or supporting functions and requires a practical knowledge of the nature and operations and the materials, facilities and methods employed by Phoenix Metals in metals processing and distribution.Physical RequirementsStand or Sit(Stationary position), Walk(Move, Traverse), Use hand/fingers to handle or feel (Operate, Activate, Use, Prepare, Inspect, Place, Detect, Position), Stoop, kneel, crouch, or Crawl(Position self(to), Move), Talk/hear(Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information), See (Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess), Pushing or Pulling, Reaching, Repetitive MotionFunction in the JobHeavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Job FunctionGenerally responsible for completing basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions.Responsible for safely loading/unloading material to/from supplier vehicles using material handling equipment such as a forklift, overhead crane or side loaders.Examines material for obvious quality defects and using measuring devices such as a tape measure to ensure conformance to purchase and sales orders.Tags material for proper identification and completes all required documentation.Safely operates commercial trucks on Company property.Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.Reports any irregularities to supervisor for direction.Responsible for adhering to/ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.Required Skills0-5 years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required.High School diploma/GED preferred.Warehousing and material handling experience preferred.Must be able to obtain a certification to operate all required motorized material handling and rigging equipment.Clear oral and written communication skills, particularly legible handwriting required.Ability to show adequate manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination required.Ability to read and comprehend written instructions as applied to work situations required.Basic measurement skills, including taking, converting, and/or using measurements of length, width, height, and weight to perform basic math computations correctly required.Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions required.Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively required.Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors including knowledge, experience, and judgment required.Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and co-workers required.
