Travel RN - Med/Surg

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position requiring a NJ or compact RN license and at least 2 years of Med/Surg experience, with strong clinical skills across a wide range of acute care procedures.Job Details• 23-bed Medical/Surgical unit in a community hospital setting,• Patient ratio of 1:7,• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM,• Every other weekend (EOW) required,• Epic EMR experience required,• Clinical skills required include: telemetry remote monitoring, IV insulin protocol, colostomy care, feeding tube care/management, pre/post hemodialysis, renal failure management, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draws, peripheral and PICC line management, starting IVs, heparin/insulin administration, CVA care, pre/post neuro surgery, total joint replacements, surgical drains, chest tubes, tracheostomy management, and oxygen management,Job Requirements• Active NJ RN license or compact RN license currently in hand,• Current BLS certification required,• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required,• Epic EMR experience required; additional EMR experience preferred,• Proficiency in telemetry/cardiac monitoring and emergency response,• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care,• Experience with respiratory management including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management,• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols,• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration,Additional Information• First-time travelers with sufficient Med/Surg experience will be considered,• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position,• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler,• Travel pairs or groups will not be accepted,• Orientation is held weekly on Mondays,• No RTO will be approved during the first week of orientation; a maximum of 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved for the remainder of the contract,
