Position OverviewThe Operations Manager will oversee and support administrative, bookkeeping, operational, and light HR tasks to ensure Modern Class runs smoothly and efficiently. This role requires someone who is exceptionally organized, tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing financial responsibilities with people-focused and executive support tasks.Core ResponsibilitiesBookkeeping & Financial OperationsManage bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooksProcess and oversee payrollGenerate and manage invoicesCategorize expenses accuratelyOrganize and file receipts and financial documentationMaintain accurate financial records and assist with expense tracking (within Quickbooks)Support account reconciliation and financial organization (within Quickbooks)Ensure bookkeeping systems remain organized and up to date (within Quickbooks)HR & Team OperationsAssist with onboarding new tutors and team membersHelp manage onboarding paperwork and compliance documentsTrack and maintain PTO and staff recordsSupport hiring and administrative HR processesAssist with maintaining employee files and organizational systemsHelp ensure team members complete onboarding requirements and trainingsFamily & Administrative SupportCommunicate professionally with families as neededAssist with scheduling and operational coordinationRespond to and organize emailsCategorize and maintain paperwork and digital filesSupport day-to-day office operations and administrative systemsHelp maintain an organized and welcoming office environmentQualificationsRequired Skills & Experience:Strong experience with QuickBooks and bookkeepingExperience processing payroll and invoicingKnowledge of expense categorization, receipt filing, and financial organizationExcellent organizational and time-management skillsExceptional attention to detailExperience with GustoStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple responsibilities and shifting prioritiesExperience with Tutor Bird or working within an educational platform is a bonusPreferred Experience:Experience in education is preferred, but not necessaryFamiliarity with HR or onboarding processesPrevious operations, office management, or executive assistant experienceWhat We Are Looking ForWe are looking for someone who is:Highly organized and systems-orientedWarm, professional, and collaborativeProactive and resourcefulCalm under pressure and solution-focusedDetail-obsessed and dependableExcited to grow with a boutique, mission-driven educational companyLocation:Modern Class - West LALos Angeles, CAThis is an in-person, part-time position (9AM–2PM) with opportunity for growth within the company.
