Project Manager/Integrated Master Scheduler, Hybrid Jobs

Project Manager/Integrated Master Scheduler GTSC seeks an expert in project management and software planning tools to support the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) satellite service in Silver Spring, MD. The Project Manager/Integrated Master Scheduler position requires mid to senior level software development project management experience. GST is looking for an enthusiastic project manager who is expert in software planning tools to function as an Integrated Master Scheduler for some of NOAAs satellite planning and data management activities. In this role, you will focus on enterprise level project data and timelines and help to coordinate science and technology planning and departmental coordination for senior leadership. This position has been approved for a hybrid schedule with onsite days in an office in Silver Spring, MD. Primary Duties: If you have experience with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, and Jira, especially in the context of science and technology planning and even better in the government sector, then you could be a good fit for the job. Experience in both waterfall and Agile methodologies is also crucial for this role. We need your help planning for project milestones but also facilitating iteration and steady progress in NOAAs software development efforts. You will work with subject matter experts to identify key milestones and map them to work breakdown structures - some good old-fashioned project management. There are several important projects, including planning a common cloud framework and on-prem integration. You will manage an overall schedule control board, help leaders to illustrate to partners that NOAA is tracking milestones related to satellite launches, for example, and bolster NOAAs capability to demonstrate to various constituencies that its capabilities support the broader U.S. satellite enterprise. Smartsheet experience or at least willingness to learn quickly is also important because its a tool of choice in NOAA for visualizing project information and sharing information more widely across the organization. Required Education/Experience/Skills: A Bachelors degree with emphasis on science or technology management, software development, information technology or project management in general. Five to ten years of software development or master scheduler project experience in support of senior leadership, preferably in the science, cloud migration, and government sectors.
