Company, is headquartered in San Francisco, CA, but our impact extends far beyond. The Auth team at Clever is the gateway to digital learning for millions of students and educators. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a key driver of our sign-in and application access products, including Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and specialized device access. We are hiring because our platform's reach continues to expand, requiring more sophisticated, secure, and accessible identity solutions that "just work" in a classroom setting.You will simplify the complexities of identity management, building robust systems that protect sensitive student data while removing technical barriers to classroom entry.You will collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Marketing to turn research into high-performance features, and act as a mentor to peers through high-quality code reviews.Key projects you'll lead: You will drive the development of intuitive UIs and Go-based microservices, architecting end-to-end solutions for MFA, device-level access on iOS and Windows, and scalable REST APIs.Full-Stack Expertise: 4+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, with proficiency in Go, TypeScript, React, and Node.js.Project Leadership: Proven ability to lead complex projects from design to deployment, collaborating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Cloud & Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with AWS technologies (DynamoDB, ECS, Step Functions, SQS) and a strong grasp of microservices architecture.Reliability & Testing: Experience with CI/CD pipelines and a disciplined approach to automated unit and end-to-end testing to ensure platform stability.A commitment to understand and prioritize the Clever engineering culture (see our blog post on Defining Clever's Engineering Culture ) and a desire to grow the team through collaboration.Analytical Rigor: The ability to perform deep-dive root cause analysis on complex, stack-wide problems to find performance and security opportunities.Previous experience or interest in writing device-specific code for iOS or Windows .Flexible PTO and Paid Parental LeaveComprehensive health, vision, and dental coverageThe range of our base salary cash compensation for this role for candidates living in the United States, besides NYC and San Francisco, CA, is between $140,000-$165,000 .
