ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY: The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri is a regional disaster and hunger-relief network that brings together community resources to share tens of millions of pounds of food with neighbors each year. Our highly-collaborative team believes that empowerment, education and partnerships are key to getting food into the hands of those who need it most. With the help of 145 partner agencies, nearly 200 school partners and more than ten thousand volunteers annually, our day-to-day efforts help feed approximately 100,000 neighbors each month across our 32-county area. POSITION SUMMARY: This key member of a highly collaborative Executive Team will help the organization navigate the changing financial landscape so we can best use our resources to feed neighbors now and into the future. This position plays a key role in planning the strategic direction of the organization. JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Have a Bachelor's degree in accountingCPA certification preferred or equivalent work experience in auditing or accountingBe highly organized and detail orientedBe familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and not-for-profit accountingPossess supervisory experienceBe proficient in computer skills including Windows, Microsoft Word, Outlook and ExcelBe willing to work with industry specific accounting software and databaseBe able to work with a variety of peopleHave excellent written and oral communication skillsBe able to work in a dynamic team environmentHave adaptability as a key characteristicHave excellent customer service skills for internal and external stakeholdersBe able to manage multiple tasks at onceBe sensitive to the needs of low income peopleWork closely with the Development team for reporting and financial data collectionWork closely with Human Resources to understand best practices, regulations and payroll processingACCOUNTING JOB DUTIES:Maintain computerized bookkeeping system including industry specific accounting softwareProvide timely and accurate financial statementsProficient in bank reconciliationMaintain bookkeeping records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices and IRS guidelinesMaintain fund balance accounts for restricted fundsMaintain budgets and provide reports for President and CEO, Board of Directors, Executive Team, Development Team, and Grants DepartmentServe as the liaison with all banks and vendors with Food Bank accountsLead annual audit preparation efforts and work with CPA firm as directed Handle all financial reporting for Government contractsORGANIZATIONAL JOB DUTIES:Play an active role in the Executive Team for The Food BankSupervise Director of Finance and Director of Foundation Relations and GrantsProvide guidance and support for the Grants DepartmentProvide idea generation and revenue stream development to support the mission of The Food BankHave knowledge in the areas of Strategic Planning and Financial ForecastingManage the Commercial and D&O Insurance needs of The Food Bank serving as the liaison between The Food Bank, applicable insurance companies and brokerBe the primary liaison to the Finance Committee of the Board of DirectorsUtilize external resources to assist in guiding best practicesProvide oversight for the annual budget and investment portfolio for The Food BankPlease submit your resume and cover letter to apply for this position.PI43aa2cfa38e3-25448-34902590
