Role: Python/Angular Developer- Equity Derivatives (Only ON W2/1099) (Hybrid 3-4 Days/ Week)Direct Client Location: Midtown, NY, NYDuration: 12 -18+ MonthsJob Description: Currently seeking a Python/Angular Developer- Equity Derivatives with our client in their Midtown, NY location. This is a 12-18month+ contract and hybrid position. This position requires 3-4 days onsite.ResponsibilitiesDevelopment and Production support for an algorithmic trading platform.Work closely with the trading desk to develop new algo trading models, expand existing algo trading models, as well as support any production issues for the platform. AMM Strategy (EDGE IT) Objectives Areensure Production Support of the platform be involved in the ETF Quoter FI project and develop required features handle BAU requests of the desk Provide the best possible production-capable environment for the electronic trading system, including all Data Centre operations, business continuity setup, application development, deployment and support. Design & DevelopmentInteraction with traders and quantitative researchers: Analyse new ideas and requirements for development Maintenance and improvement of trading applications: New features, algorithms, enhancement of existing applications, optimisation for speed, bug corrections. Implement algorithms in line with Compliance and Regulations (e.g. RegNMS, RegSHO, etc.) SupportMonitoring: ensure that the trading platform is stable and works properly (scripts, batches, applications and infrastructure). Maintenance: adapt, improve, stabilise and automate the platform; help reduce the human factor and the number of manual interventions. Assistance to the users (traders and researchers). Interaction with Market Access teams to ensure proper quote reception and order sending capabilities. Interaction with IT Infra teams to ensure proper functioning of all devices: servers, firewalls, switches, database, filer, market- and inter-colo connectivity) Interaction with Operations to ensure proper accounting of the desk's positions: feed booking and other Back-Office systems. Interaction with compliance teams to understand the impact of regulations on the trading platform. Preferred5 - 10 years relevant industry experience with development in Java (prior experience with C++ is preferred) Experience with supporting production platforms and interacting directly with business users Ability to troubleshoot production issues to determine their cause; code level, network, operating system, firewall...
