Payroll Tax Manager
Job Description:Responsible for timely and accurate remittance of Federal, State, and Local payroll taxes for US entities doing business in multiple states and localities to third-party vendorResponsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the data provided to third-party vendorPreparation, reconciliation, and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual withholding and unemployment tax returnsManage State audits for all entitiesPreparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliation of W2 wages and withholdings for all entities, including reconciliation of third-party vendor files/reports to source systemPreparation, reconciliation, and review of Forms W-2C and amendment of associated payroll tax returns Monthly reconciliation of Company Divisions payroll balance sheet accountsQuarterly and annual reconciliation of employee equity Provide analytical assistance to divisional Accounting Departments for matters related to payroll tax and deduction liability accountsManage the process to add or deactivate jurisdictions for all entities including divisional entities on external payrollResponsible for execution and documentation of SOX testsResearch and respond to payroll tax related inquiries from employees, agencies, and other third partiesProvide support on matters related to external unemployment advising Act as liaison with Treasury Department regarding transfers of all related payroll tax paymentsManage testing of all payroll tax system upgrades and enhancements prior to production implementation, including documenting of test scenarios and scriptsSpecial projects as assigned REQUIREMENTS – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES-Experience with ADP Smart Compliance or other third-party payroll tax providerDemonstrates strong understanding of payroll tax adjustments within payroll systems to ensure accurate compliance and reporting.-Five years’ experience with high volume multi-state payroll tax-experience in handling notices (federal and state withholding and unemployment taxes)Demonstrated understanding of and experience with Federal, State, and Local payroll tax regulations and filings required, with strong State experience in NY and CAStrong knowledge of current compensation rulesMust be detail-oriented with excellent analytical skillsProficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office suite, especially ExcelAbility to maintain strict confidentialityStrong organizational, written, and verbal communication skillsProactive with excellent follow-up skillsAbility to multi-task and work well under pressure
