Material Handler

Material Handler IIIResponsible for operating a stationary or traveling crane, truck/tractor trailer, forklift/tow motor to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. Depresses buttons, lifts levers, and ensures load is safely attached to crane before bringing it down. Observe and make sure that the load is safely attached and within the lifting limits. They keep equipment clean and well maintained. Extreme weather conditions such as heat and cold Exposure to air particles such as dust and chemicals Exposure to loud, penetrating noises in some work areas Proper personal protective equipment is required such as, steel toed or metatarsal boots, ear plugs/earmuffs, safety glasses, pants, and hard hats This is a safety-sensitive position. A safety sensitive job or position is where the employee holding the position has, at any time during his or her employment, the responsibility for his or her own safety or the safety of others Education/ExperienceAt least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the marine, or steel fabrication industry High school diploma or GED required Ability to work well under minimal supervision
